When there’s no time to blend up a smoothie or chop veggies for a salad, what are ways you make healthy decisions while saving time?

Eggs and packaged egg whites are life savers. I can always make an omelet, scrambled eggs or a breakfast burrito. Quick and inexpensive. I make it a point to never run out of eggs.

Always keep fresh fruit in your house and nuts! There is always time to grab them and go. No cutting or prepartion necessary. Just grab, eat and be happy!

Go grocery shopping and do some cooking on Sunday so you have leftovers throughout the week! I try to make a few kinds of salads and brown rice, maybe pre-cut veggies too! That way everything is prepped for the week ahead. I also try to pack a lunch the night before work. Then I am not scrambling to do it in the morning and feeling rushed. This also ensures I do not have to settle for any unhealthy options for lunch. I hate when I am starving but my only choice is whatever is around the office, which usually isn't healthy and fresh!

Soup!  Either a from scratch fav  or Annie's Organic Tomato  in a pinch.  Make  several  one day  a week. This week I've had chicken soup, and beef barley. I also love meatless Squash soup.  Soup is so economical; I use the best organic ingredients avail. and  each serving  is mere pennies. Best ? I have enough to share with my neighbors!   Stay tuned  as I'll be  placing some  recipies on my blog.  I am new here!

I chop everything as soon as I buy it- fruit or vegetables. I find that if I don't then that is one more hurdle I need to get over when I come home from work and need to cook dinner and/or prepare my breakfast and lunch for the next day.

I eat so much more fruit when it is cut up- especially oranges!

Boiled eggs, hand fruit (apples, pears etc), nuts I pre-portion myself, healthy food bars etc. I also try and make one or two meals on the weekend that I can eat throughout the week. Usually this is some kind of soup of grain (pasta, rice, wheatberry etc) salad that I can take for a quick lunch or supper.

I like to keep healthy snacks within reach-- be that in the pantry, fridge, or fruit bowl. Some of my favorites are roasted seaweed, asiago cheese with rosemary and olive oil, plain yogurt with fresh fruits, apples, oranges, and freshly air popped popcorn.
Nice
I try to keep boiled eggs and boiled chicken tenderloins on hand. I shop more often for fresh fruits and veggies and keep the fruit bowl full of fresh fruit for a quick healthy snack. I take one day a week to cut pack individual baggies of veggies, such as celery, carrots, and sugar snap peas for the week ahead.
@Jessica Geier Hi Jessica! It's true, My family will eat more of those fruits and veggies if they are already prepared/cut up.
@Anna K I totally agree! I try to make my lunches ahead of time, that way I don't buy an unhealthy lunch at work. I end up feeling better for the rest of the work day after a healthy, fresh meal!
